Volunteer at the Royal Parks Half Marathon

Closed
12:00 - 12:00 Sunday Oct. 7th 2012
Hyde Park, London, Greater London W2 2UH, UK

Important: No more volunteers are currently required for this opportunity.

Help make a difference and volunteer a few hours of your time to help cheer on Alzheimer’s Society runners.

On 7 October 2012 we need you to help cheer, shout and wave our runners at the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Taking in four of London’s Royal Parks as well as views of some of London’s finest landmarks this year’s run proves to be as popular as ever with over 180 people running for Alzheimer’s Society; aiming to fundraise a fantastic £113,000.

We’re looking for as many people as possible to come and join us on the day to help cheer our runners on as they complete what is a huge challenge for many. By giving up your time we’ll supply you with a free Alzheimer’s Society t-shirt as well as light refreshments. You’ll leave with the satisfaction knowing that you helped our runners get round the course. This really is a fun day and we’d love you to come along and enjoy it with us.

Volunteer roles

Charity village set up

We need some early birds to come and help us set up our charity village point from 8am – 11am. This will be our main point of contact with our runners on the day where we’ll welcome our runners and supporters throughout the day.

Cheer point set up

We need volunteers to help set up our cheer point from 9:30am – 12:30pm. Once this is done it’d be great for you to cheer on all our runners and really help them round the course. We’ll provide banger sticks and hand clackers to help make lots of noise!

Cheer point close

The majority of runners will pass our cheer point between 10am and 1pm so this is when we’ll need our volunteers to cheer our runners as loud as the can. This really helps the runners get that extra spur to keep pushing on and cross the finish line. Afterwards we need a few people to help us pack up the cheer point before heading home.

Charity village close

We need volunteers to help us at our charity village stand between 12:30pm and 4pm. At this time our runners will be popping by to say hello after battling their way across the finish line, we need you to help meet and greet them as well as help serve refreshments. Afterwards we need a few people to help us take down our stand and pack up.

We’d love to have you help us out on the day but if you can’t stay for the duration then please do come and support us for as long as you can. Whether you’ve helped out before or this will be your first time please come along and support us.
