Calling all volunteer managers in Brighton and Hove!

For anyone who is aware of our Facebook Group for Volunteer Managers, this is to let you know that we are 'migrating' the group here to i-volunteer.

i-volunteer has become a meeting place for people interested in volunteering since its launch, with lots of opinions and discussions and hundreds of articles and posts about volunteering.

So... we have set up Volunteer Managers in Brighton and Hove here on i-volunteer. For this group to work, we need people who work with volunteers in Brighton and Hove to join it and join in.

You cannot view or post to the group unless you join it.

Great stuff Dave and hope the new group goes well. To let you know we have some new functionality coming online for groups soon, namely:

  • Notification of wall posts - so you can be kept informed of a conversation
  • Adding images and links to walls
  • Group admin invite and message function
  • Gallery for pictures and images
  • Upload and share documents
  • Events calendar (which can sync with iCal/Outlook)
  • Chat
  • Group profile weblinks and further info page

These should be ready by the end of April all going well, along with some additional functions for individual profiles including enhanced walls, galleries, additional page for further info and invite to join (similar to Facebook invite) plus site wide enhancements such as geo mapping, new Tag UI (including secondary user generated 'hot tags') and improved search facilities.

Hopefully means that as this/other groups grow they will have some really useful tools that will make networking really useful and relevant.
