To celebrate their silver jubilee (25 years old in September), Borders Family
History Society is holding a Family and Local History Fair and Conference on
Saturday, 9th October 2010 from 10am to 4pm in the Corn Exchange & Ormiston
Institute, Market Square, Melrose, TD6 9PN, Scotland.
They have 4 talks lined up and 18 exhibitors so far; and they'll have some
interesting second-hand books for sale, for those that have other interests.
The work done by many of their volunteers will be on display, and of course, they (and other charity exhibitors) would love to hear from others who want to volunteer.
Refreshments (tea, coffee, orange squash, filled rolls, scones and snacks)
will be available from 10 am to 4 pm.
Admission to the fair and each of the talks is free of charge.
There are more details on their conference page,
For the benefit of those coming a long way, they have reserved some seats for
each of the 4 talks.
If you would like to reserve a seat for one or more of the talks, please do
