Next Challenge, here I come

So... My ankle is healed, finally – and although I have not worn heels to test the dexterity I have tried the treadmill!

After a week of the gym, followed by a week of tonsillitis (someone is trying to keep me down) I have decided I need a new challenge.

A group of my friends are doing the 3 peak challenge in June, but there is no way that I want to go trudging up or down a mountain in the dark – that is just reckless!

Therefore, I am aiming to climb Ben Nevis on the last bank holiday weekend of May. First I need to decide who I want to walk for; I am definitely going to choose a charity and my list includes five at the moment, then I will need to start practice my hill walking!

Living in Buckinghamshire there aren’t too many hills to choose from, well strenuous ones, the Chilterns and Bledlow ridge are probably the highest around and I have done those within minutes. I have a feeling I am going to be in shock with the 6 hour trek up the Scottish mountain.

Let the practice begin, and keep positive for no more illness and no more injuries.

I will update this post regularly with my progress, and feel free to offer advice on walking or hills that I can climb at the weekends!
