Important: No more volunteers are currently required for this opportunity.
ivo is a social network that brings people and organisations together who want to change their worlds. The site offers a range of social tools plus content - including job/volunteer listings, news, blogs and editorial - to inspire and enable people to get involved and make change happen.
Launched in April 2012 following a successful pilot site, the network has 10,000 members and is growing daily. Our members include volunteers, charities looking for help and an active network of volunteering and social action professionals who use the site for peer sharing and support.
We are now looking for interns to help us raise our profile. You'll do this by helping to develop our online presence through social media - Twitter, Facebook and Linked In - and partnerships with third party websites, along with drafting press releases and other promotional content. You'll also be helping us us to research and develop relationships with corporates and charities to develop promotional campaigns, such as helping us to secure donations for prizes so we can run competitions and promotions.
You'll need to have an outgoing and confident personality with excellent communication skills (including fluent written/spoken English) and be able to use your initiative to identify and follow up on new opportunities. Some experience of research or PR/communications gained in any setting would be an advantage but is not essential - what's most important if your willingness to learn and get stuck in!
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in an online start up where you can develop your skills and broaden your CV. You'll be working closely with the founder/CEO - an experienced communications professional and social entrepreneur - and based in our new London offices in waterloo, just behind the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank.
These are unwaged, part time positions - 2/3 days a week for up to 6 months. ivo is in the process of securing funding and there may be prospects for payment in the future.
Interested? Apply below and tell us in no more than 120 words why you want to get involved. Interviews for those we shortlist will be held the week of the 30th July.
We look forward to hearing from you!
