Try something new in the bedroom - micro volunteering

Try something new

We've launched a campaign to promote micro-volunteering.

The campaign, ‘Try Something New in the Bedroom’, aims to highlight how easy it is to volunteer by undertaking bite-sized actions known as ‘micro-volunteering’, either from a computer or a mobile phone. It’s so simple, you don’t even have to get out of bed to volunteer!

i-volunteer founder Jamie Thomas said:

“Micro-volunteering is something that anyone with a PC or a mobile phone can do with just a few minutes of spare time. The UK will need more volunteers than ever to support the Big Society and so we want to show people how getting involved can be both fun and easy."

Here on i-volunteer you'll find loads of information about micro-volunteering.

On this site we have over 50 different micro volunteeing opportunities you can do from your pc, your mobile or just lying in bed!

We also have blogs and features about micro volunteering contributed by members and from our news and features team.

Micro-volunteering is just one of activities that you can get involved in. We also have wide range of other volunteering opportunities from charities and groups across the UK.

If you don’t have time to search for something right now, you can register your skills, interests and experience and let charities ‘head hunt’ you with opportunities and requests for help. You can even upload your CV. Check out this guide to creating your profile to find out more.

If you're searching for a job volunteering can be great way to gain experience to enhance your prospects - check out our feature volunteering to boost your CV to find out more.

Congrats on this accolade - sounds as though it's got off to a good start already.

Some news about micro volunteering - it's becoming more and more recognized out there, as evidenced by its inclusion in an online volunteer management staff development plan seminar http://www.energizeinc.com/everyoneready/ from a leading volunteer management resource website, Energize http://www.energizeinc.com/

Part 1 of the seminar is available to look and listen for free here http://www.energizeinc.com/everyoneready/about/1/launcher.html Parts 2 + 3, which you have to pay for, devotes 2 sections to micro volunteering as part of its look at new trends in the voluntary sector.

Marvellous poster and cheeky (but on the right side of being cheeky). Should turn a few heads. Hope this campaign is a success.
