Would you like to be a volunteer Sports Maker? Local workshops fast approaching...
"I want to see more people enjoying sport, but we need your help to make it happen. So why not take your first step to becoming a sporting hero?"
- Sir Steve Redgrave, Olympic Rowing legend
The Olympic Games is a once in a lifetime opportunity to capitalise on public interest in sport. We can help the whole nation become a healthier, happier and sportier place next month by setting up sporting events for everyone to get involved.
The next Sport Makers workshop will welcome back 400m legend Daniel Caines to give an inspiring talk on how to get people involved in sport. The workshop will give you all the skills you need to create new opportunities for the people of Sussex to live out their Olympic dreams. If you love sport (and we know you do!) now is the time to get out there and start making sport happen. Don't just watch the Games on telly - get involved and be part of Britain's Olympic Legacy.
The workshops are completely free, so book your place for one of the August events by responding to this email. Spaces are limited so book now!
3 August 10:00am-1:00pm at K2 Crawley
18 August 10:00am-1:00pm at the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Brighton
As well as learning new skills, meeting professional sportspeople and becoming a sporting hero yourself, if you come to the workshop on 3 August you will be visiting one of the top sports and leisure centres in the country - K2 Crawley, an official Olympic training venue, run by Freedom Leisure - not to mention the unique perks of being a Sport Maker.
